Advertiser quick start

From an approved advertiser account to a live offer: submitting a campaign, how review works, setting up and checking your postback, and tracking spend.

This takes you from an approved advertiser account to an offer running with our publishers. You need a tracking link that can carry our click ID, and a way to send a postback when a user completes your event: your own server or an attribution platform.

1. Submit a campaign

Open Campaigns in the dashboard and press New campaign. Tell us:

  • What you're promoting. A name and a line or two of description, in words you'd show a user, plus your app store or landing page so we can review it faster.
  • Targeting. The countries (two-letter codes, or none for everywhere) and the platforms: iOS, Android or website.
  • The conversion. What the user has to do, for example Install and reach level 10, and the event name your postback will send for it, for example level_10.
  • The price. What you pay per conversion in USD. A daily conversion cap, a total budget and start and end dates are optional.
  • Your tracking link. Put {click_id} where the link takes its sub ID, or tell us the parameter name to add it as. See tracking setup.

2. Review

We review every campaign by hand, usually within a business day. You get a notification and an email when we decide:

  • Approved. We set it up as an offer. It shows under Offers as pending, then active once it goes live.
  • Needs info. Our note says what's missing. Change the campaign and save it; it comes straight back to us.
  • Rejected. Our note says why. Reply to the email if you think something was missed.

You can change a campaign or withdraw it until it's approved. After that, write to [email protected] for changes, such as a new price or a paused offer.

3. Set up your postback

Open Postbacks in the dashboard and copy your postback URL. Fill in your system's macros for the click ID and, for multi-step offers, the event:

https://cashadmedia.com/postback?token=YOUR_TOKEN&click_id={click_id}&event={event}&txn_id={txn_id}

Only token and click_id are required. The postback reference lists every parameter, the statuses and how to reverse a conversion.

4. Check your postback

Before launch, call your postback URL once with a made-up click ID, for example click_id=test. An answer of invalid_click means your token works and we simply have no such click; rejected:bad_token means the token is wrong. Every request made with your token is listed under Postbacks with the answer we gave.

Once the offer is live, watch the same list for your first real conversions. An invalid_click there usually means a macro in your postback URL wasn't filled in. The postback reference lists every answer.

5. Track spend

Each approved campaign's page under Campaigns shows its clicks, conversions and spend against its budget. The budget is for your reference: traffic doesn't stop when spend reaches it, so tell us when you want an offer paused. Statistics breaks traffic down by offer, country and device, and Conversions lists every conversion with its status. You are billed monthly for approved conversions; see billing and reversals.

Go-live checklist

  • Your tracking link passes our click ID through to your attribution, and your postback sends it back unchanged.
  • The event name in your postback matches the one in the campaign.
  • Your postback token is kept server side, not in app or page code.
  • You reverse conversions you later find to be fraudulent or refunded, within the reversal window.
  • Your contact and billing details are current under Settings.
